First Year Panther Plan Workshops

Get Ready to Succeed!
 

All first-year students are required to attend three workshops during the fall 2020 semester. These events are designed to give you tools and resources to be successful as a first year student. An advising hold will be placed on your spring enrollment in the next few weeks. To ensure that this hold is removed so that you can register for spring semester classes, you must attend all three workshops. 
 

Workshop 1: The Balancing Act

Using your syllabus as a framework, we’ll help you think about how to balance school and life in a healthy way.

When? Attend one of the following:

  • Monday, August 24, 3:00-4:00pm
  • Tuesday, August 25, 3:30-4:30pm
  • Wednesday, August 26, 3:00-4:00pm
  • Thursday, August 27, 3:30-4:30pm

Workshop 2: Expect the Best

What are your expectations for your academic and college experience? We’ll help you form a plan to meet those expectations.

When? Attend one of the following: 

  •  Monday, September, 7 3:00-4:00pm
  •  Tuesday, September 8, 3:30-4:30pm
  •  Wednesday, September 9, 3:00-4:00pm
  •  Thursday, September 10, 3:30-4:30pm

Workshop 3: Plan for Spring 

Using your academic resources, we’ll help you understand the Liberal Arts Core and begin planning for the spring semester. This workshop will be followed up by a pre-registration meeting with your academic advisor.

  • Monday, September 21, 3:00-4:00pm
  • Tuesday, September 22, 3:30-4:30pm
  • Wednesday, September 23, 3:00-4:00pm
  • Thursday, September 24, 3:30-4:30pm

How do I get credit for attending the workshops? 
You must do two things to get credit for attending:

  1. Attend one of the meetings for each workshop! We’ll download the attendance log after each session to verify your attendance.

  2. Complete the survey after the event.
