Peer Academic Advisors in Residence (PAiR)

Peer Academic Advisors in Residence (PAiRs) are student who work in the Office of Academic Advising, 

as well as in their assigned residence hall!  Each PAiR receives specific training that enables them to assist students in a variety of areas including:

  • Exploring major and career options
  • Declaring or changing a major
  • Understanding Liberal Arts Core
  • Scheduling
  • Class selection
  • Study skills and strategies
  • Resources around campus

Bender Hall PAiR - Kaytlyn A.

Major: Deciding

My "Favorites" at UNI: I like to attend events on campus.  I love the sporting events and feeling the PANTHER Pride!  

Advice to New Students: Don't be afraid to try something new.  Be engaged on campus.


Bender Hall PAiR - Hannah B.

Major: Psychology

My "Favorites" at UNI: I love Maucker Union roof, taking walks around our beautiful campus, all the opportunities to get involved, and BENDER HALL!  

Advice to New Students: College is a time to explore.  Don't be afraid to try something new, you might find something you love!  Also, learn time management early.

Major: Leisure Youth and Human Services

My "Favorites" at UNI: the WRC and GBPAC performances.

Advice to New Students: Take a chance: do something you've never done before or have always wanted to try. Ask for help when you needed the answer will always be no if you don't ask.




Dancer Hall PAiR - Lindsay M.

Major: TESOL / Spanish Teaching

Hagemann Hall PAiR - Jessica S.

My "Favorites" at UNI: Volleyball, football, and basketball games.  Hall programs and activities.

Advice to New Students: Never be afraid to ask for help!


Noehren Hall PAiR - Grace R.

Major: Global Health (Pre Med)

My "Favorites" at UNI: The professors, the WRC, study space above ITTC, and chocolate brownie extreme ice cream from the dining center.

Advice to New Students: Pick one or two things to get involved in.  Try something new at least once a semester - you might love it!


Rider Hall PAiR - Paige M.

Major: Music Education and Psychology

My "Favorites" at UNI: Panther Marching Band and the UNI Community

Advice to New Students: Don't be afraid to try new things.  You never know what you'll fall in love with.


Shull Hall PAiR - Austin S.

Major(s): English / TESOL Teaching

My "Favorites" at UNI: Exploring the campus.  I always seem to find new places I have never seen before.  

Advice to New Students: Get involved and do whatever you can.  These semesters go quicker than you think.  Don't be afraid to put yourself out there.


Peer Advisor Leaders (PALs) - Haley B., Christine H., and Natalie P.  

PALs mentor PAiRs and serve as student leaders within Academic Advising.  They also help with academic programming within upperclassman Residence halls.
