How Have we Helped our Major Changers?
Kim
I started as a History major, but realized I was not enjoying the History courses I was enrolled in. That same semester I was also enrolled in a Political Science course and enjoyed it enough I began looking into changing my major. I completed Career Cruising, attended Majors in Minutes with my roommate, and reviewed the course catalog to compare major requirements. I also looked into careers in my major to know if it was the right fit for me. The discovery process, as frustrating as the journey was at times, was also a lot of fun. Let the fun guide you.

My original major was Vocal Performance, but once I realized I value consistent work, I began considering other options. The Office of Academic Advising reached out after I completed a survey saying I was thinking about changing my major so I set up a meeting to talk about my options. After meeting with an advisor I started the process of finding a new major that felt like a better fit for me. UNI is a really good place to be if you're thinking about changing your major!
